Hastelloy® C-4 is a nickel-chromium-molybdenum alloy with excellent high temperature stability. It has high ductility and corrosion resistance. Its high temperature resistance up to 1900 °F (1038 °C) makes it suitable for most chemical process applications in "as is" soldering conditions. It retains its properties even after aging up to 1200oF to 1900oF or 649oC to 1038oC. Alloy C-4 provides resistance to grain development and precipitation in the weld zone, so it is highly suitable for chemical processes under welding conditions.
Corrosion-resistant Hastelloy alloys are widely used in the chemical processing industry. The need for reliable performance has led to their recognition and development in the energy, health and environment, oil and gas, pharmaceutical and flue gas desulfurization industry sectors.

Hastelloy® C-4 is a grade of Hastelloy®, a nickel-molybdenum alloy. There are many different grades of Hastelloy®, including C-4. Each grade of Hastelloy® is optimized for a specific application. Molybdenum makes Hastelloy® harder and stronger at high temperatures. The properties of this alloying element and its incorporation into the material also make it ideal for welding applications. These nickel alloys are easy to manufacture and form. They also exhibit good ductility and are capable of cold working.
Hastelloy C-4 (UNS N06455) is very resistant to many aggressive chemicals, especially hydrochloric acid, sulfuric acid and chlorides. Hastelloy C4 is one of the alloys with the best corrosion resistance among nickel-chromium-molybdenum alloys. Like other nickel alloys, Hastelloy C4 is ductile, easy to weld and weld, and has excellent corrosion resistance to stress in chlorine-containing solutions. High in chromium molybdenum, resistant to oxidizing and non-oxidizing acids, and resistant to pitting and crack attack in the presence of chlorides and other halides.
